The Canadian Tax Foundation-Fasken Martineau DuMoulin Award for Ontario 2004-5

Francis Favre

The Canadian Tax Foundation is pleased to announce that Francis Favre is the winner of the 2004-5 Canadian Tax Foundation-Fasken Martineau DuMoulin Award for Ontario for the best student paper submitted on matters affecting the Canadian tax system. Mr. Favre wrote "Designing an Elective Entity Classification System for Canada" as a student in the University of Waterloo's Master of Taxation (MTax) program, from which he graduated in 2005. The paper was also awarded the University of Waterloo's Donald and Geraldine Beam Award for best research paper. Mr. Favre received the Canadian Tax Foundation Scholar Award for 2005 in recognition of his achieving the highest academic standing in the MTax class. He is a 2003 graduate in both accounting and finance of the University of British Columbia's Bachelor of Commerce program. Mr. Favre is currently a tax specialist, International Corporate Tax Services, at KPMG LLP in Toronto.
