Newsletters

The Foundation publishes three newsletters,

  • the monthly Canadian Tax Highlights
  • the quarterly Tax for the Owner-Manager
  • the quarterly Canadian Tax Focus

Members receive Canadian Tax Highlights and Tax for the Owner-Manager as part of their membership. Members also have access to the searchable archives on this website. Canadian Tax Focus is available to both members and non-members.

Canadian Tax Highlights

Canadian Tax Highlights is a monthly newsletter available to members via the Canadian Tax Foundation website. This newsletter is valued throughout the tax community for its penetrating analysis of current "hot topics" in the taxation field. It features commentaries on the latest developments in tax case law, legislation, administration, and policy. Readers are welcome to comment directly on articles through the newsletter comment box. The newsletter is also available in French as Faits saillants en fiscalité canadienne.

Tax for the Owner-Manager

Tax for the Owner-Manager is a quarterly newsletter available to members via the Canadian Tax Foundation website. This newsletter is aimed at owner-managers of private corporations and their advisers. Contributors from across Canada report on tax developments (legislative, administrative, and judicial) of interest to readers, and on the accompanying planning traps and opportunities. Readers are welcome to comment directly on articles through the newsletter comment box. The newsletter is also available in French as Actualités fiscales pour les propriétaires exploitants.

Canadian Tax Focus

This quarterly newsletter is associated with the Canadian Tax Foundation Young Practitioners chapters across the country. Articles are written by young practitioners with up to ten years of professional experience. Topics range across the breadth of tax practice—some are about the latest tax news, while others review core knowledge that should be in everyone’s toolkit. This newsletter is available to everyone for free on the Canadian Tax Foundation website, and readers are welcome to provide feedback or engage in discussion through the online comment boxes.
