Policy Forum on Indigenous Property Taxation
The Canadian Tax Journal requests proposals for short (3,000 to 5,000) papers on policy issues related to Indigenous property taxation. Papers on all aspects of property taxation by, of, and for Indigenous peoples are welcome. Sample topics include the effect or effectiveness of the First Nations Financial Management Act, the development of urban reserves, the “municipalization” of First Nations, regional differences in the access to and use of property taxation by First Nations, and the alignment of the current Indigenous property tax regimes with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Please submit proposals as soon as possible, and not later than February 19, 2021. Invitations to prepare papers will be extended by the end of February, and papers will be due by April 30th, 2021.
