The Canadian Tax Foundation-Bert Wolfe Nitikman Foundation Award for Western Canada 2002-3

Mark Lavitt

The Canadian Tax Foundation is pleased to announce that Mark Lavitt is the winner of the 2002-3 CTF-Bert Wolfe Nitikman Foundation Award for western Canada for the best undergraduate student paper submitted on matters affecting the Canadian tax system. Mr. Lavitt wrote the paper “The Alberta NHL Players Tax: The Jock Tax Comes to Alberta—or Does It?” as a third-year student at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in 2003. He received his BSc (with distinction) from the University of Calgary in 1998. Mr. Lavitt is currently articling with Alexander Holburn Beaudin & Lang in Vancouver.
