Internet Explorer 11 - Compatibility Fix
*This issue only applies to Internet Explorer, you will not have this issue with alternative browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
We've recently determined that members have been experiencing compatibility issues while navigating the CTF website. The new Internet Explorer 11 upgrade has caused some compatibility issues with our software. Please note, these issues are Microsoft software issues and are not exclusive to the CTF website. You may have experienced similar difficulties navigating other websites if you are an IE11 user.
In most cases the software upgrade to 11 would have been done automatically on your computer and did not require a manual prompt.
Microsoft has released the following temporary fix until the issue is resolved on their end. Please follow the below three quick steps.
note: If you are experiencing issues navigating other websites, the fix below should resolve it.
What the users can do in 3 easy steps:
- Ensure you are on the www.ctf.ca website in IE11.
- Click on the ‘Tools’ icon on the top right corner of your browser and from the drop-down menu select “Compatibility View Settings”.
- Add ctf.ca (which will pop-up automatically) and click close. This will refresh your browser, at which point you will be able to navigate the site.
Please note: you will have to do the same for the French CTF website domain www.fcf-ctf.ca in order to log-in there successfully as well.
If you clear your browsing history in Internet Explorer, these settings will reset and you will have to repeat these steps.
